Marcellus Cogswell-Wright is from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He attended Dalhousie University where he received his Bachelor of Arts, and Juris Doctorate. He articled with Oliver Janson Law Inc. in Digby, NS and was accepted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2026.

During his undergraduate degree, he enjoyed studying philosophy and history.

During his legal studies, he enjoyed learning business law. He received a certificate in Business Law from Dalhousie Schulich School of Law.
